STREET STYLE: RAYMOND DAVIDS

Spring is here and Raymond Davids is enjoying it. With the perfect in-between season cardigan, shorts and espadrilles, his style is the summer look I'm sure many guys will try duplicate. The studded belt added a bit of edginess to the whole look.

STREET STYLE: SIBONGILE MACALA

Fashion lover Sibongile oozed oxygen with an ethnic tunic that had everyone turning their heads, including yours truly. The beading details is what I love the most. No accessories were needed as the tunic was the center of attention.

STREET STYLE: MELO MOLEFE

Who said only skinny jeans make you look good? Melo dives the other direction wearing gypsy pants that not only make her look good, but make her stand out as a trendsetter. With a simple plunging v-neck, she added a little twist to the look with a cropped bottle-neck. And the hairstyle? Perfect! Not everyone can pull off this look, so she definitely gets two thumbs up!

SUMMER PLAYLIST

Continuing with the Summer Playlist HAUS OF  KINGS remembers the talented Aaliyah with a few of her videos that turned up the heat back in the day.

Being my favourite artist of all time, Aaliyah was credited for helping redefine R&B and hip-hop, especially for females, thus earning her the nicknames "Princess of R&B" and "Queen of Urban Pop". With an angelic voice, effortless moves and her signature "street but sweet" style, she rocked us with her music and still does to this day.

 HOK commemorates Aaliyah.

May her soul rest in peace.

SUMMER PLAYLIST

With summer just around the corner, I've decided from time to time to give you guys some of my favourite summer anthems to get you in the mood for summer.

Kicking things off is the song that dates back to 20 years ago that saw DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince collaborate on one of the finest songs of that era. "Summertime" incorporates what summer is all about: fun, fun, fun! With fashion that ranged from cropped tops, baseball shirts, shorts, sneakers and more, fun in the sun was the message passed on.

Enjoy.

PRESS: ONBOARD MAGAZINE FEATURES UYAPO KETOGETSWE [PICTURES]

I previously mentioned to HAUS OF KINGS readers that I had the opportunity to sit down with ONBOARD Magazine who wanted to know more about "fashionistas" and "bloggers". After the interview I did a shoot for the article, and here are some of the pictures. Taken by the best photographer in the country Kabo "K.O Photography" Olesitse, I got the chance to peep the pictures before the magazine hits stores in September.

WOW! These are definitely amazing!!! I don't know if you guys agree or not? Either way, I just had to share them with you guys. Enjoy...

EVENT STYLE: MODEL ALEBAKWE MMOPE AT THE BOTSWANA FASHION WEEK 2011 PROMO SHOOT

Haus of Kings spotted the beautiful Alebakwe Mmope at Cresta Lodge for a photoshoot she participated in. Wearing a turtle-neck layered under a detailed ruffle shirt, she looked chic, all the while remaining warm.

UYAPO PICKS: COLOUR ACCESSORIES

Colour this summer is going to be crazy! And what better way to add that burst of life to your outfit than with accessories. I've been looking everywhere for a rubber band strap watch with an analogue face and recently found a good quality one at Markham. With two solid colours - blue and purple - the watch naturally colour blocks without the need of additional material. Definitely a must-have on your wrist if you want to stay cool this summer!

EVENT: BOTSWANA FASHION WEEK 2011 PROMO SHOOT

Sunday 14th August, Botswana Fashion Week 2011 organised a promo shoot for the build up to the show in conjunction with Cresta Lodge's 20th Anniversary held at Cresta Lodge. Models, photographers, designers, make-up artists and many more were all present at this shoot / meet-and-greet that also saw talent scouts Gemstones MTM Group come to the shoot. The day included a lot of laughter, pictures, and poses. Peep the rest to see how the day went.

EVENT STYLE: MODEL DAVID BILLBOARD AT THE BOTSWANA FASHION WEEK 2011 PROMO SHOOT

David Billboard participated in the Botswana Fashion Week Promo Shoot and received a lot of attention from the organizers and other models. Sporting a smart-casual look, he did best with a yellow shirt (colour trend alert), salt-grey skinny jeans and an aviator-inspired jacket. I particularly liked the contrast that his wristbands created, with all black on one wrist and colour on the other.

STYLE UP: TAKE ME TO PARIS [WOMEN'S EDITION]

Take me to Paris (Women's Edition)

Still dreaming of going to "Paree" during the summer? Well, here's the perfect look. Keeping things simple, I envision the lady I'd go with to Paris to wear this. A tank-top tucked into these shorts sealed with a weaven belt, and a blazer to create a conservative look. The yellow brightens up the day and takes a risk with colour. After all, life is short! So why should we take it seriously?

STYLE UP: TAKE ME TO PARIS

This look was created for the guy who knows his style. Going for a more relaxed look that keeps you cool during the summer, the majority of the material used on the pieces is lightweight. The look is brought together by a blazer for that foreign "Paree" feel. Try it out! I'm sure heads are bound to turn as you walk by...

EVENT: F.E.T.I.S.H JEWELLERY VIEWING

Last night I attended the F.E.T.I.S.H jewellery viewing hosted by Silver Mystique Jewellery. As the bubbly kept flowing and the good vibes filled the atmosphere, we were treated to top jewellery brands that included Thomas Sabo, Pandora and Tiffany & Co. With all jewellery being sterling silver, imported from Italy, there were rings, earrings, pendents, bracelets and much more on display. What I loved about the jewllery was its top quality and affordable prices. I'm definitely looking forward to the next viewing.
