THE STREETS ARE MY RUNWAY FEAT. THUTO SEANE

From the streets of New York, Paris, Italy, Johannesburg and even Botswana, fashion lovers take to the streets everyday on their daily grind to success. However they do it a little differently knowing that first impressions are the most lasting impressions, and so they step out in style.

Although fashion may bring us together, any fashionista will tell you that style sets us apart! We all know that clothing is one of the most common ways in which people express themselves and without a doubt that can speak volumes on a persons behalf.

Without further ado HAUS OF KINGS is pleased to announce a new segment titled "The Streets Are My Runway." The section covers fashionistas that take pride in personal style and self-presentation. Creating a 5 day lookbook of their street style, this section hopes to inspire HOK readers and followers.

Kicking things off is a lady I've known for 2 years. Over the years her style has evolved in relation to her personality, all the while creating trends that alter many people's fashion sense to achieve positive change. With a love for God, fashion. laughter, friends and family, please welcome Thuto Seane.

Day 1

Vintage has been making its way into many youths' closets lately and Thuto incorporates a vintage blazer from Antonette and a sling-bag into her casual look to create a modern but vintage outfit.

What she wore:
Blazer - Trifted
Jeans - Mr Price
Scarf - Trifted
Shoes - Mr Price
Bag - Vintage
T-shirt - Mr Price
Accessories - All over town.

Day 2

A skirt on a windy day can be a challenge, but if worn with the correct pieces it can use the wind to its advantage and look great, especially if it's as colourful as Thuto's. The ankara print scarf stands out the most, while the riding boots add a little bit of an edge to the outfit.

What she wore:
Skirt - Market place
T-shirt - Mr Price
Scarf - Mr Price
Jacket - A gift
Boots - F.W

Day 3

When the bright sun comes out its always best to accessories with a huge hat that not only provides shade but also adds on to your look. Boot leg jeans take away from the conventional skinny jeans and the tucked in shirt suggests maturity. With the right accessories such as a ring and colourful bracelets, you can add some fun pieces to compliment you're look.

What she wore:
Shirt - Foschini
Jeans - Mr Price
Knitted Jersey - Gift
Accessories - Mr Price

Day 4

Stripes will be making a comeback this season and Thuto proves why she's always ahead with trends in her maxi dress. To add colour and constrain the dress' pattern, she opted for a green cardigan tied with a brown leather belt. The boots make a punk statement to the girlie-girl outfit.

What she wore:
Dress - Mr Price
Cardigan - Aunts closet
Shoes - Mr Price
Accessoroes - Gift

Day 5

Who would have thought that a blazer would look so good with carrot shaped jeans on a lady? Only Thuto would be able to make these pieces work so effortlessly. The floral printed tank top is a winner as it picks up on spring/summer 2011/2012 trends, and the long socks play a sporty role in what would be considered menswear.

What she wore:
Jeans - Woolworths
Floral top - Mr Price
Blazer - Vintage
Shoes - Mr Price
Bag - Mr Price

I hope you've enjoyed Thuto's lookbook as much as I enjoyed taking the pictures.
Feel free to be inspired by her and add on similar pieces to your wardrobe.

An interview with her will be posted soon.
